Hi babes! Today I wanted to share with you the products I’ve been using to keep my skin free of acne. It’s been a very long journey for me, and my skin is not perfect but at the moment I am acne free and that’s all I’ve ever wanted. The best way I can describe my skin type is, I have oily t-zone, acne prone, and normal on the outer parts of my face. There is honestly no secret to clear skin, The most important thing is that you find a skincare routine and you’re consistent with it. Here’s what I have been using,
MY SKINCARE ROUTINE
#1 Removing My Makeup: To remove my makeup I don’t have one specific way or just one product I use. Lately I’ve been using the Olay 4 In 1 Daily Facial Cloths. All you have to do is add water to activate them and then it does its job. It especially works great on those late nights when I just don’t have the energy to sit there and spend a long time removing my makeup. I also really love the Sephora Coconut makeup remover wipes.
#2 Face Wash: This is something that i’ve switched up so many times but I think I finally found something that works for me. I’ve been using the Kate Somerville Exfolikate Cleanser Daily Foaming Wash for over a year now and I always end up going back to it. My skin feels super refreshed and clean after using it. Since I do have acne prone skin I prefer a face wash that isn’t targeted to clear acne. I personally prefer to use other products to spot treat my pimples. I’ll mention a few of my faves below 😉 I use this face wash twice a day, in the morning when I wake up and at night.
#3 Serum: This is a step that I included in my routine about a year ago and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. The Kate Somerville Quench Oil Free Hydrating Face Serum is exactly what I needed to help my skins uneven texture. It’s an anti aging, lightweight serum which helps add a glow to your skin without looking shiny. It is definitely more on the pricey side but totally worth it.
#4 Moisturizer: I actually have two moisturizes that I use. You obviously don’t need to use two different ones but I found that this works best for me. Now that I live in California my skin has been feeling super dehydrated. The Kate Somerville Oil Free Moisturizer is great to use at night. It hydrates my skin and makes it feel incredible. The Tatcha Water Cream is a dream in a jar. I love to use it right before I put my makeup on. It has a silky finish to it and it makes my skin feel super soft and smooth.
#5 Exfoliators: Since I wear makeup every single day its really important that I do not skin this step. I like to exfoliate my skin at least once a week. My #1 exfoliator is the Murad Pore Reform Skin Smoothing Polish. I’ve been using this for years, It removes any dead skin while being gentle on the skin. It also helps tighten pores and balance oil production.
#6 Spot Treatment: Okay so I only just discovered this about six months ago and holy guacamole has it changed my life. Tea Tree Oil was actually recommended to me by my subscribers. As soon as I see a pimple on my face I go ahead and apply the Tea Tree Oil and leave it over night and BOOOM by the next day it’s drastically gone down or even disappeared in some cases. I like to use a cotton pad to apply the teat tree oil on my skin. It can definitely dry out your skin so I don’t recommend you use it all over your face or everyday.
#7 Face Mask: This is something thats more personal and different for everyone. I usually like to switch it up all the time since I love discovering and trying out new ones. One that I have not changed and have been using for years is the Sephora Mud Mask. It’s great for oily/acne prone skin. It leaves my skin feeling nice and tight. Another one that I’ve been using for hydration is the FRESH Rose Face Mask. It Hydrates and tones my skin. I like to use it at least once a week to help my skin.
